+ Absolutely waterproof seams.
+ Hook-and-loop tightening and adjustment on top of the foot to keep the boot snug and prevent it from slipping off in the thick.
+ An adjustment strap around the upper calf.
+ To decrease the chance of any water going in the inside of the upper lip has smooth skin neoprene, creating a tighter seal when sinched, in case you get a little too deep.
+ Very easy to put on or take off.
Our Opinion: The Hiko Wade X are the absolute favorite shoes for winter paddling, endorsed by Steve Flusswanderer and Ammerhai Ingo. These shoes are completely waterproof, and their insulation is phenomenal; you can hardly tell whether you're standing in water or not. For winter paddling, it's advisable to purchase the shoes 1-2 sizes larger, allowing good movement of the toes. Unfortunately, the Hiko Wade X are not compatible with the current NRS Freefall dry pant.
