Gumotex Solar – Inflatable Kayak

The Gumotex Solar is supplied with two seats and two adjustable footrests. The included fin significantly improves directional stability and noticeably enhances straight-line tracking. Also included are a repair kit for minor damage, a valve wrench, a sponge for cleaning, and a robust 100-litre transport bag.

This means the Gumotex Solar is ready to use right away and fully equipped for your first tours.

The Gumotex Solar paddles well even in its standard configuration, but it truly reaches its full potential with the optional rudder system. It noticeably improves straight-line tracking and makes manoeuvring easier on longer distances or in crosswinds.

For everyday use, we also recommend essential accessories such as paddles, an air pump, and personal flotation devices to make the most of the kayak. A canoe trolley is particularly practical if the walk from the car to the water is longer, allowing the Gumotex Solar to be transported comfortably and with minimal strain.

With a good air pump, the Gumotex Solar is ready to use within just a few minutes. It consists of three air chambers – one floor chamber and two side chambers – all inflated via easy-to-use Push-Push valves. All chambers are filled to an operating pressure of 0.2 bar and can be inflated quickly and efficiently.

Important: the fin should be mounted before inflating. It simply slides into the fitting on the underside of the Gumotex Solar and later provides improved straight-line tracking on the water.

The Gumotex Solar can be used as a single or tandem kayak and can be flexibly adapted to different types of tours. When paddled solo, it offers plenty of space for gear, making it well suited for longer day trips or multi-day journeys.

With two paddlers, there is still sufficient room for day touring equipment, and the Solar maintains its stable and forgiving handling. Thanks to its open design, the seating position can be adjusted freely, which provides added comfort especially for taller paddlers.

The Gumotex Solar is ideal for calm lakes, wide rivers, and relaxed touring trips. Thanks to its forgiving handling and open design, it performs equally well on day outings and multi-day journeys.

The Solar can also handle light whitewater (WW II) in the lower classes without difficulty. For more powerful whitewater or heavily obstructed sections, however, it is less suitable – in these conditions, a closed kayak offers clear advantages.

The Gumotex Solar is made from proven NITRILON® material, known for its high abrasion resistance, UV stability, and long-term durability. This construction easily withstands regular use on rivers, gravel banks, or in light whitewater without losing stiffness or reliability.

Thanks to its smooth surface, the Solar dries quickly and is easy to clean. With proper care, the kayak remains dimensionally stable and fully functional for many years – ideal for paddlers looking for a durable, low-maintenance inflatable kayak.

The Gumotex Solar folds down compactly and can be stored in the included transport bag. Thanks to its moderate weight, it can be carried easily or transported in a car boot without any hassle. The open design also makes it easy to dry the kayak completely, which is especially practical when travelling.

For the walk from the car to the water, we recommend using a canoe trolley. It allows the Solar to be moved comfortably and with minimal strain, even over longer distances. This keeps transport simple and convenient, even when carrying additional gear.
