Designed with family adventures in mind, the Gumotex Thaya is a highly stable and enjoyable kayak. Its adaptability allows for quick transformations from a one-person to a tandem kayak, and with the addition of an optional extra seat, it can accommodate three paddlers by adjusting the seating configuration. The incorporation of Dropstitch* construction enhances the Thaya's paddling performance, surpassing typical inflatables of similar size, and its extended waterline contributes to excellent tracking capabilities. While suitable for flatwater environments such as lakes and estuaries, the Thaya's rigid hull construction enables versatility in small surf, slow-moving rivers, and even gentle white-water up to grade 2.
*Dropstitch technology involves connecting the upper and lower layers of fabric with thousands of polyester fibers. This fabric, coated with an airtight coating, is shielded on both sides by durable Nitrilon® material. The multitude of fibers binding the layers together allows these products to be inflated to high pressure, providing robustness comparable to solid materials while preserving the same portability as existing inflatable boats.
The Gumotex Thaya comes with two seats and two footrests. With the included fin, you can enhance the directional stability and maneuverability of the Gumotex Thaya in the water. Additionally, you receive a repair kit for minor damages, a valve key, a sponge for cleaning, and a waterproof transport bag with a capacity of 100 liters. This allows you to store, maintain, and of course, use your Gumotex Thaya ideally in the water.
The Gumotex Thaya truly reaches its full potential with a rudder system, which facilitates maneuvering and steering. In addition to classic accessories such as paddles, pump, or life jacket, we can also recommend a canoe trolley. This allows you to transport your Gumotex Thaya quickly and easily, which is especially convenient when moving it alone or covering longer distances.
The Gumotex Thaya can be set up in just a few minutes with a good air pump. The Thaya consists of 3 air chambers - two side chambers and the drop-stitch floor. First, inflate the side chambers with the easy-to-use push-push valves to 0.2 bar. Then, the drop-stitch floor requires 0.5 bar. The included seats and footrests are inflated and quickly attached to the kayak after a few pump strokes. Before inflating, make sure to attach the fin - simply slide it into the fitting on the underside of the Gumotex Thaya.
The Gumotex Thaya can be navigated alone or with up to three people. When paddling alone, the Thaya offers plenty of space for luggage, making it perfect for longer trips. Even with two people, there's still enough legroom, but the storage space might be more suitable for day trips. With three people, the space is quite limited, but there's nothing stopping you from enjoying a leisurely outing with a child. However, you'll need an additional seat for your Gumotex Thaya in this case.

Trotz seiner Größe lässt sich das Gumotex Thaya sehr einfach transportieren und verstauen. Nach dem Ablassen der Luft kann das Kajak kompakt zusammengefaltet und im mitgelieferten 100-Liter-Transportsack verstaut werden. Dieser ist robust verarbeitet und lässt sich bequem wie eine Tasche oder über kurze Strecken tragen.
Das NITRILON®-Material trocknet schnell und bleibt flexibel, sodass das Zusammen- und Auseinanderfalten auch nach vielen Einsätzen problemlos funktioniert. Dadurch eignet sich das Thaya ideal für Urlaube mit dem Auto, Wohnmobil oder Camping sowie für alle, die ihr Kajak platzsparend lagern möchten.
