The standard package of the Gumotex Thaya already includes everything you need for immediate use. The kayak comes with two comfortable seats and two adjustable footrests, providing a stable and comfortable seating position. The included fin significantly improves straight-line performance and ensures calm, predictable tracking on the water.

The set also includes a repair kit for minor damage, a valve wrench, a sponge for cleaning, and a robust 100-litre transport bag. This allows the Thaya to be packed away compactly and stored safely.

To unlock the full potential of the Gumotex Thaya, we especially recommend the rudder system. It noticeably improves straight-line tracking and makes manoeuvring easier, particularly on larger lakes or longer stretches of water. Thanks to the Thaya’s excellent stability, the rudder system provides a very relaxed and controlled paddling experience.

For everyday use, essential accessories such as paddles, an air pump, and personal flotation devices are also recommended. If you transport the kayak frequently, a canoe trolley is particularly practical, as it makes moving the wide and stable Thaya from the car to the water much more comfortable.

For paddling with a child, a third seat is available separately.

Setting up the Gumotex Thaya is quick and straightforward, even for beginners. With a good air pump, the kayak is ready to use in just a few minutes. It consists of three air chambers – one floor chamber and two side chambers – all equipped with easy-to-use Push-Push valves. The side chambers are inflated to 0.2 bar, while the dropstitch floor is inflated to 0.5 bar.

As with all Gumotex kayaks fitted with a fin, the fin should be inserted into the mount on the underside of the boat before inflating. Once fully inflated, it sits securely in place and improves directional stability on the water.

The Gumotex Thaya can be used flexibly as a single, tandem, or three-person kayak. When paddled solo, it offers plenty of space for gear and is ideal for longer tours or weekend trips. With two paddlers, there is still sufficient room for day gear, and thanks to its width, the kayak remains very stable on the water.

When used with three people, space naturally becomes more limited, but it works well for two adults and a child. An additional seat is required for the three-person configuration and is available separately.

The Thaya can also handle light whitewater (WW II) without difficulty due to its wide and stable design. For more powerful or technically demanding whitewater, however, a closed kayak is recommended, as the Thaya reaches its design limits in such conditions.

The Gumotex Thaya is extremely robust thanks to its high-quality NITRILON® material and is perfectly suited for regular use. The outer skin is abrasion-resistant, UV-resistant, and easily withstands contact with rocky or gravel shorelines. The dropstitch floor provides high stiffness while also offering a comfortable standing and resting surface – ideal for children or dogs as well.

The wide side chambers further enhance stability and contribute to the kayak’s long service life.
