The Astral Hiyak is a kayak shoe that goes over the ankle to protect the ankle. At the same time, it is very soft and comfortable. The lacing is almost completely covered, and the knot is secured with a Velcro closure. The materials used are durable and quick-drying. Neoprene is intentionally not used for sufficient insulation; instead, 3 mm Airmesh provides insulation. The sole offers perfect grip, as expected from Astral.
Our opinion: The Astral Hiyak is one of the best-selling kayak shoes on the market, and for good reason! In essence, it is a higher variant of the Astral Loyak, providing ankle protection in addition to foot comfort. Like all Astral shoes, the Hiyak also offers maximum slip resistance.
