The Eckla Beach Rolly is an absolute classic and a must-have for every river paddler. It can be used not only as a boat cart, but also for transporting the boat on public transport and as a seat on tour. The cart has remained almost unchanged since the 1990s, which makes spare parts easy to obtain. It has always been manufactured in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
Puncture-proof wheels or pneumatic tyres?
In our shop, we offer the Eckla Beach Rolly both with puncture-proof wheels and with pneumatic tyres. The puncture-proof wheels are made entirely of plastic and do not require air, so you don’t have to worry about flats. They are also slightly lighter than pneumatic tyres. In direct comparison, puncture-proof wheels roll a bit harder. Plastic wheels may deform slightly if left under load for a long time, but they return to their original shape after some time without load. Steve Flusswanderer has been using only the puncture-proof version since 2019. If you want to use the Eckla Beach Rolly as a bike trailer, pneumatic tyres are the better choice as they provide a smoother ride.

Important! According to the manufacturer, pneumatic wheels with ball bearings are required to use the Eckla Beach Rolly as a bike trailer. In an emergency, it also works with pneumatic wheels with roller bearings. The puncture-proof wheels are too hard for comfortable use as a bike trailer.
