Gumotex Rush 1 (2021 model) with minor cosmetic manufacturing marks

The Gumotex Rush 1 comes with a fabric seat and a footrest. The supplied fin significantly improves directional stability and helps the kayak maintain a straight course. Also included are a repair kit for minor damage, a valve wrench, a sponge and a durable 80-litre transport bag. This means the Gumotex Rush 1 comes fully equipped and is ready for its first adventure straight out of the bag.

For the Gumotex Rush 1, the optional cockpit cover is particularly interesting, as it transforms the originally open kayak into a closed boat. This provides additional protection from spray water and makes the Rush 1 more versatile in changing weather conditions.

There is no official rudder system available for this model, as the originally planned version was never released. However, the Rush 1 remains easy to manoeuvre even without a rudder and offers sufficient tracking thanks to the fin.

Additional recommended accessories include essential equipment such as a paddle, an air pump, and a personal flotation device. A canoe trolley is especially practical, as it makes transporting the kayak to the water much easier – particularly when carrying extra gear or camping equipment.

The Gumotex Rush 1 can be assembled in just a few minutes, making it ideal for spontaneous paddling trips. The dropstitch floor is inflated to 0.5 bar, giving the kayak its excellent rigidity and impressive performance on the water. Before inflating the kayak, it is important to install the fin. It slides into the designated slot on the underside of the Rush 1 and significantly improves tracking.

The Gumotex Rush 1 is designed as a dedicated solo kayak and provides a sporty, compact seating position for one paddler. The cockpit offers sufficient space for average-sized paddlers, but taller users or those with longer legs should be aware that the space beneath the deck is somewhat limited.

With the cockpit installed in particular, legroom may be restricted for taller paddlers. If you require a higher cockpit opening and more space in the front section, the Gumotex Swing 1 is often the better option, as its deck is noticeably higher and offers greater freedom of movement.

The Gumotex Rush 1 is an exceptionally versatile kayak that performs well on a wide variety of waters. Thanks to its dropstitch floor, it tracks smoothly on lakes and larger rivers while providing a secure and controlled paddling experience. At the same time, its compact length makes it highly manoeuvrable, allowing it to handle smaller and more winding rivers with ease.

The Rush 1 also copes well with easy whitewater up to Grade II, provided the conditions are not too demanding. However, it is not designed for challenging or highly technical whitewater. In such conditions, a shorter kayak with a fully enclosed cockpit would be a better choice.

The Gumotex Rush 1 is made from the proven NITRILON® material, which is known for its excellent abrasion resistance, UV stability and long service life. The dropstitch floor also provides exceptional rigidity, improving both the kayak's performance and its overall durability. Its smooth surface is easy to clean and dries quickly, making it an excellent choice for paddlers who use their kayak frequently and want to minimise maintenance.

Once dry, the Gumotex Rush 1 can be folded down into a compact size and packed into the included 80-litre transport bag. Thanks to its low weight, it is easy to carry and fits comfortably into a car, campervan or flat.

For longer distances to the water or when carrying additional equipment, we recommend using a kayak trolley. It allows the Rush 1 to be transported comfortably without putting unnecessary strain on your back. Its combination of compact dimensions and low weight makes the Rush 1 an excellent travel kayak.
